The Law Group, Ltd. represents plaintiffs across the nation in state and federal lawsuits involving dangerous and defective products, medical malpractice, and toxic and environmental exposure to dangerous substances. These lawsuits can be brought either individually or as part of a class action. A class action allows individuals who have similar claims to be joined together to prosecute their claims in a more efficient manner. Similarly, mass torts occur when people suffer similar injuries due to a common product. Our firm has been heavily involved in mass tort litigation, including serious injuries and deaths due to listeria contamination in Sara Lee meat products, as well as tobacco litigation. A goal common in all of our investigations and lawsuits is to bring about consumer awareness of dangerous substances and products.

PHARMACEUTICAL LITIGATION

Due to the increasing number of drugs and supplements being "fast-tracked" through the investigational and clinical trial stages and entering the marketplace, consumers are being exposed to defective and potentially dangerous prescription medications. Examples of these types of products include the anti-cholesterol drug Baycol, and the deadly diet drug combination known as Fen-Phen. In many instances, The Law Group, Ltd. has been the first law firm to file lawsuits against the manufacturers of these products in hopes of having them removed from the market.

PRODUCTS LIABILITY

Harmful and defective products should be removed from the market and consumers need to be protected from irresponsible companies and corporations. The Law Group, Ltd. has been instrumental in the recall of many of these products, including the FDA ban of all ephedra containing supplements and the recall of defective tires manufactured by Bridgestone/Firestone. Inadequate warnings and labeling on these products leave the consumer unaware that the product they may be using, or ingesting, may cause them serious or fatal harm. Our goal is to have the defective product removed from the market to prevent future injury to others, while pursuing just compensation for injured victims.

MEDICAL MALPRACTICE

When a doctor, hospital, or healthcare provider falls under the standard of care necessary and causes damage to an individual, a medical malpractice lawsuit may be filed. In order to determine if the claim is valid, The Law Group, Ltd. will retain highly qualified medical professionals to review the medical records and provide their expert opinion.

TOXIC TORTS

The exposure to dangerous and toxic substances in our environment has grown immeasurably over the years. Some of the toxic substances that have been shown to cause significant injury to people are lead-based paints (causing brain damage, especially in children) asbestos (lung cancer, mesothelioma) and toxic landfill waste (leukemia).
